Invisalign® FAQs

The Invisalign system is a series of clear aligners used to straighten teeth.

Will Invisalign treatment fit my lifestyle?

The answer is absolutely yes! Invisalign allows you to eat whatever your heart desires, just be sure to take out your aligners first. You can also remove your Invisalign to brush and floss your teeth.

Occasionally, you can even remove your Invisalign aligners to enjoy a special night out. With Invisalign, you won’t need to change your lifestyle, it’s a seamless transition, continue to be yourself. Don’t forget your aligners are clear and virtually invisible, meaning you will be able to continue smiling while you undergo treatment.

Invisalign treatment appointments are very convenient. We typically schedule appointments every six weeks and most visits are in and out requiring only a short check-up.

What is the Invisalign system?

The Invisalign system is the most state-of-the-art and virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth. Invisalign treatment makes use of advanced 3D computer imaging technology to show you your treatment plan step by step, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position. You will even be able to preview your final results.

Once the treatment is established, a series of clear aligners are custom-manufactured to fit only your teeth and to move them little by little. Each aligner in the series is worn for approximately two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series. This process is repeated until the final position of your teeth is achieved.

Your Invisalign total treatment time will be determined by your doctor based on the severity of your case, how you respond to treatment, and the specifications of your treatment plan.

What are the primary benefits of Invisalign treatment?

It’s simple, Invisalign aligners allow you to continue to live your best life. The aligners are clear which makes them virtually impossible. The aligners are also removable which means that you will not have to modify your diet or oral health routine.

The Invisalign system also offers patients a high level of comfort. Invisalign does not have any metal brackets or wires which means there won’t be irritation from rubbing against the mouth. You’ll also have more time to spend on the things you love because your appointments are only scheduled every 6-8 weeks.

Finally, Invisalign’s technology will allow you to visualize your results before your treatment even begins. Using the iTero scanner and Invisalign’s software, your doctor will go over a visual representation of your treatment plan step by step including your final results.

How many patients are in Invisalign treatment?

Today, over 5,000,000 patients worldwide have been successfully treated with Invisalign aligners. The number of smiles transformed by Invisalign continues to grow daily.
